Terms and Conditions - Merely Jane’s Cakes

1. Orders

All cake orders must be placed in advance and are subject to availability. Orders are confirmed only once the required deposit has been received.

2. Deposits

A £10 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your order date. Without a deposit, your booking will not be confirmed. The deposit will be deducted from the total cost of your order.

3. Final Payment

The remaining balance is payable on collection or delivery unless otherwise agreed in advance. If payment is not made, Merely Janes Cakes reserves the right to withhold the order until full payment has been received.

4. Cancellations

  • Deposits are non-refundable.

  • If an order is cancelled less than 7 days before the event, the full balance may still be payable due to preparation and ingredient costs.

5. Changes to Orders

Any requested changes to design, flavour, or size must be made at least 7 days before the collection or delivery date. Changes may not always be possible depending on preparation progress.

6. Allergies & Dietary Requirements

While we take care when preparing products, our kitchen handles ingredients including nuts, dairy, eggs, wheat, and gluten. Therefore, we cannot guarantee products are completely allergen-free. Customers must inform us of any allergies when placing an order.

7. Collection & Delivery

Customers are responsible for ensuring safe transport of cakes once collected. Cakes should be placed on a flat surface in a cool vehicle, preferably in the boot or footwell. Merely Janes Cakes cannot accept responsibility for damage after collection.

If delivery is arranged, responsibility transfers to the customer once the cake has been safely delivered.

8. Design & Decoration

Every effort will be made to match requested designs. However, as cakes are handmade, slight variations in colour, decoration, or finish may occur.

9. Storage

Cakes should be stored in a cool, dry place and kept out of direct sunlight or heat. Specific storage instructions will be provided where necessary.

10. Liability

Merely Janes Cakes will not be held liable for any damage to cakes once they have been collected or delivered and accepted by the customer.

11. Photography

We reserve the right to photograph cakes for portfolio, social media, and promotional purposes, unless the customer requests otherwise.
